Martina Marchetti Deschmann

Her main research area is instrumental bioanalytical chemistry with a special focus on mass spectrometry and separation sciences, biomolecule identification and detailed characterization. She is a recognized expert for omics technologies (i.e. proteomics, glycomics), focussing on method development, future directing applications and instrument improvement. Recently she uses high resolution mass spectrometry imaging to visualize molecular distributions on surfaces and to study functional molecules within living tissue. She was awarded the Beynon Prize in 2007 for a publication in Rapid Communication in Mass Spectrometry having the highest impact during the previous two years, and the Fritz Feigl Prize of the Austrian Society of Analytical Chemistry in 2013.
