Peter Faller

The group of Peter Faller works at the interface of chemistry with biology and studies mainly amyloidogenic peptides and their interaction with d-block metal ions like copper and zinc. A major focus is on the peptide amyloid-beta, which aggregation seems to be directly related to and may be causative for Alzheimer disease. The group also study the interaction of amyloidogenic peptides with other metalloproteins concerning metal-exchange reactions or with small compounds like fluorophores (for detection) or inhibitors (potential therapeutic agents).
